Expanding the purpose of a material is the main drive within my work. Using process based mediums such as, plaster, cement, glue and sand, I investigate the manipulation of the form and expansion of the surface texture. My previous works have consisted of looking into the dynamics of surface, change and displacement of material, and are often influenced in appealing to the senses in an animated aesthetic. Illusion and abstraction are details that display in my work whether this be formally or in material. Looking at this notion of subject matters, I work with the idea of playfulness. I like to experiment and work with the material, so that I can find the challenges of what you can do to a material. Investigation of negative space and the invisible form, are recent developments within my work.  Domestic/ everyday forms that are often overlooked are the formalities that are of great interest to me. Having the appreciation of the shapes and forms that surround us, are elements that I want to value within my work. I have worked these forms by the use of plaster and cement, to cast the impression of the form.
